Hello and welcome to the N1KGH technical blog. I started this blog, the third of my three blogs, as a place to post really technical stuff that is not always computer-related. I've had a blog on MSN Spaces where I post IT related material; most of it has been technical but still confined to IT. Of course, I have a local blog focused on Salem, Massachusetts.
I've posted radio and technical stuff to my website for years now. Some of you might remember the Carpet Loop, the DX398/ATS909 FAQ and the GE Superadio FAQ. The Superadio and DX398 pages are the most popular radio-related content on my site. (I'm well aware that my site is old and dated; I now have the web tools I didn't have when I started the site and am planning a revamp.)
While I know a lot of ham radio operators who are in IT--myself included--these two fields really don't mix that well in a single blog. So my Spaces blog will stay IT-focused.
Since I'm not always an active ham due to money and time constraints, this blog won't be exclusively ham radio-only, but will be for very technical stuff that doesn't fit in my other blogs; this will include radio, video, electronics and other computer-related things. I particularly love teardowns--taking apart stuff to see what's inside--like this one on the iPhone. (When I was three, I tore down a jack-in-the-box that Mom gave me. She wasn't happy.)
Take care,
David Moisan, N1KGH
